Humanoids are built to operate human infrastructure (doors, levers, stair risers). Quadrupeds are built to fit where humans cannot: low conduits, under conveyors, and unstable talus slopes.
C.A.N.I.S. carries its centre of mass below the hip line during crawl mode, giving it static stability on slopes up to 45 degrees.
